PRACTICE AREAS
Santiago began his career in Santiago in 2007, advising national and international companies in the corporate and dispute resolution fields, before ordinary, special, and arbitration courts, in both private and public law, across a wide range of industries.
In 2013, he moved to the city of Los Ángeles, expanding his expertise to forestry, regulatory, water, and environmental matters.
Since 2020, he has also served as Secretary of the Biobío River Basin Water Board.
Since 2021, he has served as an arbitrator in the jurisdictions of the Courts of Appeals of Concepción and Chillán.
EDUCATION
He studied at the University of Chile's Law School between 2000 and 2004. Between 2010 and 2011, he completed a Master’s in Environmental Law at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia.
EXPERIENCE
Between 2007 and 2013, he worked at Prieto Abogados law firm in Santiago. He then relocated to Los Ángeles, joining the legal department of the Compañía Manufacturera de Papeles y Cartones (CMPC). In 2019, also in Los Ángeles, he founded the firm Acevedo Urzúa. At the end of 2020, this firm merged with Santini Abogados to create Acevedo Santini Abogados, aiming to join forces and establish a presence in both Santiago and Los Ángeles.
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
Since 2014: Professor of Water Law at the Universidad Santo Tomás, Los Ángeles campus.
Since 2019: Lecturer in the Environmental Law Diploma Program at the University of Concepción.
