PRACTICE AREAS
Since 2011, Alfonso has focused his legal practice on advising national and foreign companies in the area of dispute resolution, before ordinary, special, and arbitration courts, in both private and public law, and across a wide range of industries, primarily related to natural resources.
Since 2018, he has served as an arbitrator in the jurisdictions of several Courts of Appeals in Chile, including those of Santiago, Valparaíso, and Concepción.
EDUCATION
He studied at the Law School of of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile between 2003 and 2008. He later specialised in a Diploma in Administrative Sanctioning Law at Universidad de Los Andes (2015). He then obtained a Master's Degree in International Mineral Law and Policy from the University of Dundee (CEPMLP), Scotland, in 2024..
EXPERIENCE
Based permanently in Santiago, he began his legal career at Urrutia y Compañía Abogados between 2011 and 2015. From 2015 to 2016, he was part of the law firm Carcelén, Desmadryl, Guzmán, Tapia y Compañía Abogados, also in Santiago. Between 2017 and 2019, he worked at Pérez Íñigo, Ugarte y Baraona Abogados.
In 2020, he founded Santini Abogados, and in 2021, he merged with the firm Acevedo Urzúa, based in the city of Los Ángeles, to create Acevedo Santini Abogados, with a presence in both Santiago and Los Ángeles.
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
2020: Professor of Law and Economics at the Universidad Estatal de O’Higgins, Rancagua.
2021: Instructor of the workshop "Protective Actions of Ownership from the Perspective of Private Law" at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
